VICATILE GROUT

Vicatile Grout is a cement based premixed tile joint filling mortar. The mix design includes graded high purity fine fillers, a synergistic blend of admixtures and redispersible powders.

Description

Vicatile Grout is a cement based premixed tile joint filling mortar. The mix design includes graded high purity fine fillers, a synergistic blend of admixtures and redispersible powders. The mix contains no chlorides, ferrous metal or other deleterious materials. The product is pre-blended and ready for mixing on site to produce an easy to apply, homogenous mortar ideal for pointing ceramic tile joints up to 4mm.  Vicatile grout is classified as CG2W according to EN13888 “improved (2) cementitious (C) mortar for tile joints (G), with reduced water absorption (W)”.

Advantages

  • Decreased capillary absorption.
  • Excellent adhesive bond strength.
  • Low shrinkage rate, reduced cracking possibilities.
  • Water resistant.
  • Excellent adhesion.
  • Cost effective compared to resinous mortars.
  • Easy to apply, saves time.

Uses

Vicatile Grout is used to fill narrow joints up to 4mm such as:

  • Filling narrow tile joints in all types of tiles for domestic used.
  • Grouting narrow joints of glass mosaic and prefinished marble.

Coverage

  • Consumption may vary from 0.1 to 2.8 kg/m2. It depends on the size and thickness of the tiles and on the width and depth of the joints. As a general rule, 0.45 kg of VICATILE GROUT will cover approximately 1 m2 of floor or wall covered by tiles measuring 250x250x10 mm with gaps 3 mm wide between them. The equation below can be a guide for the approximate consumption rate:
    Consumption kg/m2 =((L+B)×W×D×1.8)/((L×B))
Where: L = length of tile (mm), B = breadth of tile (mm), W = width of joint (mm) & D = thickness of the tile (mm)
    E.g. 250 x 250mm tile 10 mm deep, at 3 mm wide joint Consumption = ((250+250)×3×10×1.8)/((250×250) ) = 0.43 kg/m2
  • Allowance should be made for any possible wastage when estimating.
